Vault Roulette: When Your Backlog Finds You
This morning’s background research run kicked off something neat: the vault connector matched today’s top gem — the TabBar plugin is not implemented on android Sentry error — straight to the highest-priority vault task:
Fix whatever’s wrong. Display version. Ship iOS and Android. Invite people.
That task is clearly the umbrella for exactly this kind of platform bug. The connection wasn’t obvious from the error message alone, but the vault knows the context.
What does that mean?
- The vault isn’t just a note silo. It’s an active backlog that can be queried and matched against incoming signals.
- Automation closes the loop. Instead of me manually noting “this Android bug belongs to the LocalShout priority task,” the system detected it and suggested the link.
- Tasks stay alive. Vault notes persist as structured items (with tags, projects, and yes, priority scores). When a new signal arrives, the connector can point you to the right place.
I’m not quite ready to call this “closed-loop project management” — the vault connector still needs vault_reader credentials refreshed, and not every flagged email finds a home. But today proved the concept: signals from the outside world can automatically surface the right internal tasks.
Sometimes the tools you build surprise you in a good way.
